This unit was composed mostly of Hispanic men, (including many Spaniard's and Cuban's), as well as Italian's and a handful of French. This unit had existed prior to the war, as a local militia and was activated, for the defense of New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1861.

St. Lazarus // San Lazaro // Babalu Aye, December 17th.

Today is celebrated in Cuba and in many other nation's the Feast of Saint Lazarus, known in the Santeria religion, as Babalu Aye. He is the brother of St. Martha and St. Mary Magdalene, as related in the Gospel's. He is the Patron Saint of Leper's, the Paralyzed, those suffering from back and leg ailment's, the Homeless and Destitute and those with severe medical condition's, including the AID's Virus. May Saint Lazarus Bless You and help all the infirm and ill. // Hoy se celebra en Cuba y en muchos otros paises, San Lazaro, conocido en la religion Santera como Babalu Aye. El es el hermano de Santa Marta y Santa Maria Magdalena, como mencionado en la Biblia. Que San Lazaro los

John Henninger Reagan, Confederate PostMaster General 1861-1865.

John Henninger Reagan (born October 8th, 1818, died March 6th, 1905) served as PostMaster General for The Confederate States of America. He was the son of Timothy Richard Reagan and Elizabeth (Lusk) Reagan, of Gatlinburg, Tenennesse. He was also named Secretary of the Treasury, by President Jefferson Davis, on April 27th, 1865, as they were eluding Union Troop's, prior to their capture and served in that capacity, until May 10th, 1865.

St. Barbara - Chango // Dia De Santa Babara - Chango, December 4th.

December 4, is the Feast Day of Saint Barbara, also known in the Santeria Religion as Chango. She is honored in both the Catholic and Orthodox Faith's. Her color's are red and white and Chango is the Orisha of War, Lighting, Fire and Metal's. She is the Patron Saint of Artillery Men, Gunsmith's, Miner's and anyone working with explosives. There are many believer's, of St. Barbara / Chango, in Cuba and in Exile.
