This unit was composed mostly of Hispanic men, (including many Spaniard's and Cuban's), as well as Italian's and a handful of French. This unit had existed prior to the war, as a local militia and was activated, for the defense of New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1861.

ReplyDeleteI w´like to know more information about Major Gaudenzi Marzoni becuse my grand father, Celso Gaudenzi, was born in Italia (Ravena) and is probably that de same family thay this Major.
