CSS Georgia's paymaster, Richard William Curtis, was born in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, England on Jan 5, 1840; died 1905 in Australia. Does anyone have a track on him between the end of the war and Australia? George: ghc544@verizon.net
ReplyDeleteI have done extensive research on Richard William Curtis for over a year now, and have a massive amount of documentation on his life, from birth to death. His life, after the war, is extensively documented, all of which I have on file (only the basics having been released, so far). His full name was unknown (being only known as either R.W. Curtis or Richard W. Curtis), until my research showed all facets of his life. I am happy to share with genuine researchers only.
ReplyDeleteThe American Civil War Round Table Queensland along with Mr Foenender has also conducted research on R W Curtis and has records from his days with Queensland Railways and numerous newspaper articles. I may be contacted at bob-anne@aapt.net.au
