Granville Henderson Oury, First Confederate Arizona Territory Representative to The Provisional Confederate Congress.
Grainville Henderson Oury (born March 12th, 1825, died January 11th, 1891) was the first Representative to The provisional Confederate Congress, from the Arizona Territory (modern day Arizona and New Mexico). He resigned to enlist as a Captain in Herbert's Battalion, Arizona Cavalry and later was promoted to Colonel and served on the Staff of General Henry Hopkins Sibley, in Texas and Louisiana. // Granville Henderson Oury was succeded in the Confederate Congress by Marcus H. MacWillie, in early 1862.
